A Fun Five Day Painting Course at Cober Hill

Monday 5th May 2025 - Friday 9th May 2025
All Day

Join us for a five day art course at the relaxing Cober Hill Hotel, Scarborough.  All abilities, in any media, are welcome at one of these friendly courses.  TONY HOGAN, a professional artist and qualified tutor who has run this course for us for many years, will guide you at a speed and level suited to each individuals needs.  

The course is fully inclusive of tutoring, en suite accommodation (no single room supplement) and all meals.   A large, light, airy studio is available for indoor painting and transport to en plein air locations is provided when applicable.

We start with the group gathering on the MONDAY at 3pm in the studio on day of arrival where there will be an introductory talk followed by a demonstration before your evening meal.

On TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY those wishing to learn and enjoy to paint en plain air, will be escorted to a sight in or around Scarborough accompanied by Tony.  Anyone wishing to stay and work in the studio is welcome to do so.  For those working en plein air we leave the hotel approximately 10am after a hearty breakfast and return around 2pm to the studio.  At approximately  3pm on these two days Tony will give further demonstrations using different media and techniques for those wishing to watch before the evening meal.  After your meal the studio will be available to continue painting or just chill out in a comfortable lounge with a glass of wine/coffee?

On THURSDAY the en plein air painting is done in the extensive grounds of the hotel throughout the day (or of course if desired just use the studio). Again on the THURSDAY after the evening meal, for those wishing to do so, we meet in the studio for the art work produced during the course to be reviewed and discussed by Tony.

Cober Hill is in a delightful location on the Whitby road from Scarborough set in its own private grounds which, in themselves, offer many painting opportunities.

The course concludes after breakfast on the FRIDAY.

Tony is internationally recognised as a professional artist and tutor with artwork in homes and galleries around the world.

He works for many leading manufacturers as an ambassador and demonstrator along with T.V. , exhibitions and writing magazine articles for art magazines.

The cost inclusive of en-suite accommodation all meals, studio and tuition is £650

The Magic of Cornwall

Capture the magic of the Cornish north coast;  Paint each day: May 19th to 22nd

its unique translucent light and views, the inspiration for artists through the ages.

An area renowned for its seven magnificent bays with miles of golden sands, hidden coves and slate cliffs tumbling down to the turquoise rolling Atlantic Ocean. Plus traditional Cornish fishing hamlets, the famous Padstow Harbour and the tree lined Camel Trail along the old railway track from Bodmin to Padstow.

Join your experienced local professional artist, tutor and demonstrator, who with over thirty tears of running art holiday courses will help and guide you at a level and speed suited to you..

Tony is internationally recognised as an artist who’s easy to follow relaxed way of working is suited to all levels from beginners to working professionals.

He is a regular contributor of articles to leading art magazines, a demonstrator for art material manufacturers at major art fairs and  art societies. With T.V. appearances plus live videos on painting techniques for Leisure Painter magazine.

The course is fully inclusive of evening meals, lunch and tea/coffee breaks during the day.

Dietary requirements catered for.

Each morning we meet in the studio before heading out to paint and draw stunning  venues known to Tony returning late afternoon to enjoy the group evening meal.

Some mobility is required

The four days is £495 per person.
